MODEST street dancer Serega Kundik said this wasn’t one of his best moves.

But the awestruck crowd gathered at Oxford’s Castle Quarter seemed to disagree.

The 17-year-old from Abingdon has been dancing for three years and started performing in the streets two years ago.

He said: “I enjoy dancing because it lets me share my emotions and experiences.

“I got into it with with my friends and it has helped me build up my confidence.

“Street dancing is different to studio dancing because there are no mats or anything, so you have to be in complete control of your body,” he continued.

“I have come a long way since I started performing, I am less nervous now.

“You just try your most impressive moves and see if people like them.”

The King Alfred’s Academy pupil joined jugglers, musicians and other performers at the busker’s corner event, organised by Malmaison and the Big Bang restaurant.

Mr Kundik said: “The move isn’t one of my best, but it’s what I like to call a crowd-pleaser.”

He currently runs street-dancing classes in Abingdon Christ Church on Fridays at 6pm.

He added: “I would definitely encourage more people to try street dancing.”

His dance crew, called Flyin’ ACE, performs regularly and is currently looking for new members.
