An Oxford University classics professor has come under fire for a comment made in a national newspaper.
Robin Lane Fox claimed “a woman’s evening dress should look like an apparently stormable fortress” in a gardening column for the Financial Times.
Oxford University’s Women’s Campaign Officer Lucy Delaney told student newspaper Cherwell that the comments were “misogynistic” and “unacceptable”.
The professor later admitted to the Daily Mail he knew nothing about fashion.
