Queuing traffic on the Southern Bypass
A three-car collision near the Redbridge park-and-ride off Abingdon Road caused major delays for drivers in Oxford yesterday morning.
Police were called at 9.58am to the eastbound stretch of the A423 Southern Bypass. Emergency services reported no serious injuries. One lane was blocked for a time, causing long tailbacks.
Meanwhile, a black BMW and a black Mercedes which reportedly collided on the A34 left the scene before police arrived yesterday morning.
A witness called police at 9am to say a car had hit the central reservation and was blocking the southbound fast lane between the Abingdon north and Marcham Road junctions. Both cars had gone when police arrived at the scene.
