A 70-YEAR-OLD man is the latest to lose money to a fraud scam targeting the elderly in the county.
The victim lost £3,000 when a telephone caller claiming to be from the police told him to hand his card and bank details to a courier on Tuesday.
The scam sees the caller tell victims that their bank accounts are insecure and they need to send their money to London to keep it safe.
Investigating Officer Dc Darren Little, at St Aldate’s police station, said: “It is vital people make themselves aware of the scam and how to prevent themselves becoming a victim.”
