The Environment Agency is expected to put forward bids for funding for flood relief projects today.
The agency is looking into whether the £123m Western Conveyance Channel, which would take floodwater around Oxford rather than through it, could be one of them.
Barry Russell, the agency’s area operations manager for Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, has said there is a “significant group” of projects which he is hopeful of including.
