A toddler group offering services for deprived families in Wood Farm, Oxford, has been awarded £300 from the Housebuilder’s community chest fund.
The Wood Farm parent and toddler group in Titup Hall Drive is open to families on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
Belinda House, 52, who has run the group for more than 10 years, said: “The group is vital to this community. We cater for children up to the age of five and parents see them interact with other children.
“Some children live in a deprived area and, because their parents struggle for money, come to the centre to keep warm.
“While the children play it gives parents time to relax and they can have a cup of tea and chat to likeminded people.”
