An inquest into the death of a soldier who was repatriated through RAF Brize Norton last week is being transferred to his home area of South Tyneside.
Army engineer Sapper Adam Moralee, 23, was killed in an accident at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan two weeks ago.
The inquest was formally opened at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court yesterday before being transferred.
A statement by coroner’s officer Geoff Webb said Mr Moralee, from Northumberland, was cleaning a military vehicle when he was fatally injured.
