THERE’S nothing that signals the arrival of spring quite like the sight of newborn lambs.

And first-time farmer Lauren Marriott and her husband Dan are hoping they’ll be the first of many born at their farm in Little Wittenham, near Wallingford.

The couple took over the tenancy at the Earth Trust’s Hill Farm at the end of last year having never been farmers before.

Mrs Marriott, 28, said: “It is very exciting, and very daunting.

“The weather hasn’t helped up until now and has meant we had to take sheep inside because the land was too sodden.

“We are learning a lot as we go.”

They are inviting the public to lambing events this weekend and next, from 10am to 4pm each day.

The treat costs £15 for a family of four. Find out more at earthtrust.org.uk
