A 29-YEAR-OLD woman has admitted being involved in running a brothel in Oxford last year.

Amy Gabriel, of Holbeck Street, Anfield, Liverpool, appeared in Oxford Crown Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to a single count of keeping a brothel used for prostitution.

Also accused of the same offence are Edwina Kalay, of Hanney Road, Steventon, near Abingdon, and Lisa York, of Lakefield Road, Littlemore, Oxford.

York, 47, pleaded not guilty to being involved in running the brothel at a hearing on February 23 this year and is now due to stand trial.

Kalay, 52, has not yet entered a plea and did not appear at the court yesterday due to an administrative mix-up over dates.

All three women have been charged with running a brothel in Cranham Street, Jericho, Oxford, on June 24 last year.

Recorder Julian Knowles said he would put off sentencing Gabriel, or progressing Kalay’s case, until York’s trial had finished.

York is due to go on trial at the crown court on May 19 this year.
