Hundreds of residents have submitted their comments about the £100m planned revamp of West Way shopping centre in Oxford.

The six-week public consultation on the proposals officially closed yesterday, but Vale of White Horse District Council will continue to accept comments until April 30 because developer Doric Properties has not yet submitted its environmental impact assessment.

Doric submitted plans to knock down West Way and Elms Parade shops plus Field House sheltered housing, to build an extended shopping and cinema complex.

The assessment is a study to assess the impact the plans on Botley.

The council is due to make a decision by May 1.
