CLASSROOMS were turned into dojos as children were taught martial arts.
Wheatley Primary School pupils were preparing for a playground demonstration tomorrow with karate lessons from teaching assistant David Brassington.
Mr Brassington, a third dan black belt in Ryobu-Kai karate, said: “All the children worked hard to prepare for the demonstration. They’ve shown a lot of spirit and listened carefully.’’ The sessions were part of the school’s study of Japanese culture. Mr Brassington taught all the school’s 310 children the principles and values of karate.
Pupils will demonstarte their new-found skills at the school tomorrow at 9.30am.
