ACTION for Children is refusing to say when it expects to complete an investigation into whether Jimmy Savile abused severely disabled children in Chipping Norton.
The organisation, formerly the National Children’s Home, ran Penhurst School, which closed last year, and was this week asked by the Department for Education to look into claims the disgraced entertainer may have preyed on pupils when he visited the school for disabled children in the 1970s.
But yesterday, when the Oxford Mail asked how long the investigation would take, what it would involve, and when an outcome could be expected, the charity refused to comment.
Anyone with information related to Savile and Penhurst School should call Action for Children on 0800 980 4502.
