THE Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University is the second highest paid university boss in the country.
Professor Andrew Hamilton had a total package, including pension of £434,000, in 2012-13 which is a 2.36 per cent increase on 2011-12.
According to The Times Higher Education, the highest-paid university boss was Craig Calhoun, the new director at the London School of Economics, at £466,000.
Oxford University said Mr Hamilton’s salary reflected the university’s ranking in the world and its billion-pound-a-year turnover.
