“ARRR me hearties!”
His Dark Materials author Philip Pullman donned his pirate gear for a new exhibition. He was one of 26 writers to dress up as their favourite children’s literary character for Oxford’s Story Museum.
Mr Pullman, of Cumnor, became Long John Silver from Treasure Island and on Sunday he will read parts of the classic novel at an event at the museum.
The museum, in Pembroke Street, opened its doors to the public on Saturday.
Each room has extracts from the stories, and interviews with the authors about their choices.
Sunday’s event will take place between 2pm to 3pm. It is free, but to book a place call 01865 790050.
