A woman involved in a head-on car crash on Monday has died.

The 27-year-old, from High Wycombe, was driving a black Ford Focus when it collided with a black VW Golf on the A329 between the Great Milton turn-off and Stadhampton.

Police, firefighters, ambulance and air ambulance crews attended the scene and the road was closed between 10am and 12.35pm.

The driver of the Ford was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital with serious head injuries but later died.

A 47-year-old woman driving the VW and her two 12-year-old passengers were also taken to the hospital but were later discharged.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to call them on 101.
