LIFE science companies in Oxford are being urged to form part of a “golden triangle” of successful research.

MedCity will create links between companies, universities and hospitals in Oxford, London and Cambridge.

It will help firms co-operate, encouraging the area to discover more in the life sciences sector – any discipline that focuses on living organisms, such as biology, zoology and biochemistry.

Professor Sir John Bell, regius professor of medicine at Oxford University and a member of the MedCity Advisory Board, said: “MedCity is a concept. It’s hugely powerful.”

It will receive £2.9m from the Higher Education Funding Council for England, and £1.2m from Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
