A NEW Fairtrade market at East Oxford Community Centre will aim to give ethnic minorities a chance to develop business ideas.
The market will open on Wednesday, May 7, and every Wednesday after at the centre on Cowley Road, from 10am to 4pm.
It will include a grocery stall with organic tea and coffee, recycled and up-cycled crafts, clothes and soft furnishings.
Caribbean cuisine will be served by Taste of the Tropics and shoppers will be entertained throughout the day by an African drumming workshop.
The market is sponsored by Oxford Quality Cleaning and will be run by Francis Boua in collaboration with Junie James, director of African and Afro-Caribbean Kultural Heritage Initiative.
