ONE of the largest solar farms in the UK is to be built in West Oxfordshire over the next few months.
The site on the former RAF Broadwell at Kencot Hill Farm, near Burford, will generate enough electricity to supply up to 10,000 households and cut carbon dioxide emissions by 16,000 tonnes a year.
The farm will be developed for power giant RWE for an undisclosed sum before being sold to the Foresight Solar Fund operated by the Foresight Group, a £1bn asset management business.
