SHE may not be found chasing rabbits in the garden, but 13-year-old Alice Shuttleworth from Bampton will be chasing stardom.

The teenager is the star in the Burford School production of a modern take on the Lewis Carroll classic.

She is joining other drama students, aged 12 to 19, for Alice in Medialand which will combine Alice in Wonderland with the X Factor.

It starts at the secondary school in Cheltenham Road tonight at 7.30pm and is on until Friday.

The story follows Alice’s rising profile and the intense media scrutiny that comes with it.

She said: “It’s just lucky that I’m also called Alice but it will make it really easy when people are calling the character’s name.

“It’s been so much fun to rehearse it and I can’t wait to get on stage.

“We’ve all contributed to the script, which has been great.”

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for concessions and are available on the door.
