A MOTORCYCLIST, an 11-year-old boy and an 84-year-old man were all in hospital yesterday after collisions on the county’s roads.

The male biker was airlifted to hospital with non life-threatening injuries following a collision on the A361 Banbury Road by the B4022 in Swerford shortly before 11am.

Thames Valley Police initially thought a driver had failed to stop after the collision but later said only the motorcycle was involved. The road was closed for about six hours while police investigated the accident.

It came after a boy, 11, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after suffering a leg injury in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Corsa in Grove.

The accident briefly closed Main Street and also caused traffic delays. But Thames Valley Police yesterday said the boy’s injuries were not serious.

An 84-year-old man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital on Monday night after he was involved in a collision with a car in Abingdon.

The man was hurt in the accident at the Gainsborough Green junction with Reynolds Way at about 8.10pm.

He was in a stable condition at the hospital last night.
