TV PRESENTER Linda Barker will lead more than 1,000 women in a stream of pink for the 10th Blenheim Palace Pink Ribbonwalk.

The interior designer, known for the BBC design show Changing Rooms and Christmas Cooks, will join women from across Oxfordshire to fundraise for Breast Cancer Care.

The 52 year-old has completed the charity walk six times at different locations across the country and loves the atmosphere.

Mrs Barker said: “I have the added benefit of visiting Blenheim Palace this year. It is a really beautiful event and I think it is very inspiring.”

“I’ve done the Pink Ribbon walks many times. It is a fantastic thing to be part of.”

At Blenheim, Mrs Barker will join walkers on the 10-mile route on Saturday, May 10.

All proceeds will pay for specialist nurses, local services and an emotional support network for breast cancer sufferers.

Mrs Barker, who lives in Yorkshire, said: “I am a real keep-fitter. It is a wonderful event and everybody rallies around you.

“Everybody sets off and it feels like you know them. The walkers are cheery and friendly and walks at their own pace.

“There are lots of breaks and opportunities to have a chat and it is just a very beautiful day.

“I am a big supporter of the message.

“I know that a lot of people are affected by breast cancer and it is really important to raise money for the charity.”

The Blenheim Palace Ribbonwalk will celebrate its 10th birthday this year, and organisers hope the event will raise £230,000.

UK walks manager for Breast Cancer Care Lucy Johnston said: “We now have more than 1,000 people furiously training and fundraising.

“We just want to say a big thank-you to everyone already involved for their dedication and support.

“It’s our 10th anniversary this year so we have some great surprises in store to celebrate.”
