THE fiancee of the 29-year-old man killed in a crash on the M40 has said they were due to get married in September.

Amy Bothwell said Warren Carl Stone was the love of her life and “enjoyed every moment to the maximum”.

Mr Stone, from Headington, was travelling from London home to Oxford in the early hours of Monday, when his Vauxhall Astra veered off the motorway between junctions 6 and 7 and crashed into a field shortly after 5am. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Just days before, Mr Stone, who was a co-director at a sports management company, had celebrated his 29th birthday.

Last night his fiancee said they were putting the finishing touches to their wedding booked for September 20 at Headington Baptist Church with invitations already sent to guests.

Miss Bothwell from Cowley, who first met Mr Stone at St Augustine Primary School in Oxford, said they had been friends since then and a couple for a number of years said: “Words can never describe what he truly meant to me. He was an inspiration and light to all that knew him. He loved me with everything that he had, and he will always have my love.

Miss Bothwell, who works as an account manager at Sophos in Abingdon, said: “Warren loved life and enjoyed every moment to the maximum and I know that he was happy with his achievements in life.

“We were to be married in September and, although I will never legally become Mrs Warren Carl Stone, in my eyes we were already there. RIP my love.”

Miss Bothwell’s parents said Mr Stone was like a son to them and he would be sadly missed.

And Miss Bothwell’s brother Stuart said: “I would like to thank Warren for wanting to take Amy off my hands. Warren was loved and he was very kind – testament to this is the significant response and comments on social media.”

Mr Stone, who went to Marston Middle School and Oxford and Cherwell Valley College, previously worked in the advertising department at the Oxford Mail and most recently for Fitness Essence in Mallard Close, Oxford.

His dad Calvin said: “My son Warren had an infectious personality, a young man of incredible presence and influence.

“He celebrated his 29th birthday on Friday. The message in his birthday card from us, his parents, was ‘you have made us incredibly proud.’ Even in sadness we celebrate the fact that we had Warren for 29 years. RIP son.”

His mother, Jennifer, said: “My son Warren was an excellent communicator and he enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends.

“He had a unique way of touching the lives of the people he met, always making himself available to help other people. He was a special and unique gift. I will miss him.”

Meanwhile his brother Martyn said: “Warren was the best big brother. He was funny, driven, ambitious and fashionable; he loved his bright colours. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He will be sorely missed and I will strive to be more like him.”

Colleague and Fitness Essence business partner Yannce Reid said: “To me he was a brother, he was a best friend and a business partner.

“I know he inspired a lot of people to believe in themselves and better themselves.”

Friend Kingsley Ugwu said: “Growing up we were joined at the hip – where you saw Waz you saw me and vice versa.

“It was a privilege to watch you mature into the man that we will all miss. The driven, aspirational, exceptional young man.”

And across social media sites, more comments were left.

Friend and Oxford DJ Adrian ‘Spex’ Prescott wrote on Facebook: “Woke up hoping this was all a nightmare...”

On Twitter, Oxford triple jumper Nathan Douglas posted: “Sad to hear the news of @WarrenCarlStone yesterday, my thoughts & heart r with his fam, fiance & friends.”
