HOUSING developer Galliard Homes has dropped its planning fight to build hundreds of homes on the Oxford Stadium site.

Galliard Homes was refused permission by Oxford City Council to replace the stadium with 220 homes, and had lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate, due to be heard in September.

But this morning, Oxford City Council has revealed the developer has now withdrawn its appeal.

The news comes after Galliard yesterday advertised the stadium for lease, most likely to an operator who would run it as a Greyhound race track once more.
