THERE was standing room only at a Bicester church as friends, family and schoolchildren gathered to say goodbye to Victoria Dyer.

Hundreds of people gathered at St Edburg’s Church wearing a splash of pink in honour of the 13-year-old.

Victoria, who had cerebral palsy, died in her mother Theresa’s arms surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 29, at Oxford’s Helen and Douglas House. Her school, Bardwell, a special needs school, was closed at lunchtime so staff, pupils and their families could attend her funeral.

During the service, Mrs Dyer, 50, of Somerville Drive, Bicester, said: “She was my heart and soul, my beautiful daughter.”

Donations will be split between charities Rosy, and Helen and Douglas House, and Bardwell School.
