Wartime Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill’s famous Austin car is among a collection of 457 classic British cars up for sale.
Estimated to be worth £100m, the collection is the largest in the country and was amassed over 35 years.
It has been put on sale by entrepreneur James Hull, who is suffering from ongoing health problems.
Churchill, who was born in Blenheim Palace in 1874, bought his Austin Cambridge saloon in 1938.
He once described it as a “true blue” British motor car and kept it until 1950.
Other cars in the collection are a Mini Traveller owned by Lord Mountbatten, a Bentley formerly owned by Elton John and world motorcycle champion Mike Hailwood’s 1961 E Type Jaguar.
Mr Hull said: “Each car has its story and all have played a part in the history of British motoring.
“With luck it will find a home that can be treasured and admired by visitors from across the world.”
It is understood that a sale of the collection will be conducted privately.
