An 84-year-old man died in hospital almost two weeks after being hit by a car, an inquest heard yesterday.
Raymon Martin, a retired butcher of Palmer Place, Abingdon, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, after the accident on April 28.
Oxfordshire coroner Darren Salter said yesterday: “The contact was fairly minimal.”
However, Mr Martin’s medical condition deteriorated and he died at the hospital on May 10.
The medical cause of death given to Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court was “subdural haemorrhage,” caused when blood collects between the skull and the surface of the brain.
The hearing was adjourned for a full inquest, due to be held on October 22.
