CYCLISTS were given peace of mind as police security-marked their bikes at city centre events last week.
PCSO Matt Autrey, of the city centre neighbourhood team, marked up the bikes in Broad Street on Thursday.
Police were also in the street marking bikes and handing out advice on Friday.
Thames Valley Police was charging £5 to security mark the cycles but it was free of charge to register the bikes online.
PCSO Autery said: “As well as registration and security marking, we used the event as an opportunity to educate people about cycling safety and the law.
“We had a great turnout and received very positive feedback from everyone who attended.”
More events are planned next month, but cyclists can also go to St Aldate’s police station to get their bikes marked and registered.
