THERE’S a new law force on the mean streets of Witney.
Town ranger Jim Casson will be reporting problem issues like graffiti, litter and drugs.
The Witney town councillor even carries a police radio to summon the law.
Mr Casson, 59, who lives on Witney High Street, has been in the role for more than five weeks. He said: “On Sunday morning at Witney Lakes I went down and it looked like there had been one of those raves.
“There were beer bottles everywhere and little metal cannisters, which someone later explained to me were for taking gas.
“I wondered why there were so many balloons around.”
Mr Casson formerly managed a corporate guest house on Oxford’s Banbury Road for scientific publisher Elsevier.
He said of his new role: “It’s something I’m very much enjoying so far.”
