Eco-town traffic chaos

The Oxford Times: . .

Motorists are being warned by Oxfordshire County Council that four-way traffic lights in Banbury Road could be in place for up to 17 weeks as work on the eco-town progresses.

Traffic signals are needed while work on the entrance and water, gas and electricity services are installed at the 6,000-home development, off Banbury Road.

Drivers have already reported delays and it is expected they will continue.

A ,
bit obvious to us mere idiots that this would happen only the clever IDIOTS in planning could not realise it would happen.
Things will get worse when the Schools go back It will turn Bure Park roads into a rat run when Bure Park schoolends wait for the jams around there and God forbid an accident around there
Where does 18 weeks come into the signs say 26 weeks can the ECoCcon people get anything right

I hope the builders are going to carbon-offset the extra fossil fuels that will be burned by the hundreds of cars left sitting for ages with their engines running, and the extra fuel burned by the people taking long diversions through Bure Park to avoid the congestion.

There was going to be an Eco biomass power station - it was promised to make sure they got planning permission. As soon as they got the go-ahead they immediately dropped the green power station idea and changed over to a 100% gas fired station. So much for being an Eco-town - but that was never what this was really about, was it?

Pretty obvious to BaECON for really long time. It's a con and no mistake.

If the chaps working on site did their jobs instead of wandering round the area trying to chat up female runners perhaps this would be done sooner. The traffic chaos is a pain for so many locals and it's a ridiculous amount of time to have to put up with it.

OCC have no plan again
There is nothing Eco about this
