A city professor has called for tougher controls on food marketing after a study found about two-thirds of British people are overweight or obese.
Oxford University Visiting Professor in Epidemiology Professor Klim McPherson spoke after the University of Washington study found 66.6 per cent of men and 57.2 per cent of women are overweight.
Prof McPherson said: βAn appropriate rebalancing of the primal needs of humans with food availability is essential, which would entail curtailing many aspects of marketing for food industries.β
