THE DNA of a man accused of sexual assault was found on a woman’s clothing, police officers told Oxford Crown Court yesterday.

Evidence continued in the case of a woman who claims she was sexually abused by two men after she woke up in a house in Cowley Road, Oxford, on December 17, 2011.

Prosecuting barrister Abigail Husbands and DC Emma Smith read out transcripts from the police interviews of Bilal Ahmed, Mustafa Ahmed and Zeeshan Ahmed.

Reading out a police interview with Mustafa Ahmed, DC Smith said the accused was asked about DNA which had been found on a woman’s clothes after a man was allegedly seen masturbating over her on the day in question.

He was told the DNA on the clothing matched his but the 26-year-old from London told police officers he “didn’t know anything about that”.

Mustafa Ahmed and Bilal Ahmed, 27, from Maidenhead, are on trial accused of sexual assault.

Bilal’s cousin, Zeeshan Ahmed, of Palmer Road, Wood Farm, Oxford, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

All three defendants deny the charges. The trial continues.
