Police bail man over suspected kidnapping

The Oxford Times: . .

A 42-year-old man was yesterday released on bail having been questioned by police on suspicion of kidnap after a father and his three-year-old daughter went missing.

The suspect was also arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

It came after Ewan Powell, from Benson, picked up his daughter Tanith Powell from her home in Worcester on Saturday but the pair were reported missing when the girl’s mother came to collect Tanith on Monday.

After a police appeal and search, Mr Powell and his daughter were found safe and well in the Didcot area on Wednesday.

The suspect was bailed until Wednesday, July 16.
