CHILTERN Railways has been nominated for five awards in this year’s Railway Industry Innovation Awards.
The projects nominated include its rail replacement bus service during the current project to rebuild the Oxford-Bicester Town line to create a second Oxford-London rail route, and preparations and consultation with the public ahead of the work starting.
The other nominations are for a £5.3m scheme to refurbish the Class 168 Clubman diesel trains, the first live emergency incident exercise conducted next to a working railway, and improvements to toilets on trains and at stations, using images inspired by attractions and museums along the route.
The winners of the awards, organised by Modern Railways magazine, will be revealed later this month.
