A TEENAGE cyclist was dragged off his bike and attacked by a man armed with a pair of scissors.

Police said today the victim was cycling along Barton Lane between Chestnut Avenue and Old High Street in Headington, Oxford when the attacker grabbed him at about 4.45am yesterday.

The man tried to throttle his victim and then attacked him with a pair of scissors.

The cyclist managed to wriggle free and ride off, before calling police. He only suffered minor injuries that did not need hospital treatment, a police spokesman said.

The attacker, described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, was seen running off towards Barton. He had short black shaggy hair, a black beard and was wearing a black leather jacket, a red T-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers.
