VISITORS will get a musical welcome to Wantage once again this summer.

Wantage Presents will see local bands and musicians perform in the Market Place on Saturdays, starting at 10.30am and running for about an hour.

The 14-week series, a repetition of last year’s successful scheme, will start on Saturday with Wantage ceilidh band Melobo.

Other acts already booked include Appalachian music and dance troupe, Cornucopia, on June 28 and Oxford guitarist Nick Ruck on July 5.

The scheme is organised by Vale of White Horse District Council-funded Wantage Town Team who are trying to boost the town’s economy.
