This always should have made good pictures and Andrew Walmsley didn’t disappoint. The Rainbow Run involves running 3K and being pelted by powder on the way so you finish in all the colours of the rainbow. For those of you viewing in black and white, this is the red section...

Didcot Railway Centre hosted 225 school children at their D-Day Commemoration Day. I think this is a great shot of Ladygrove Primary pupils Bethany Wright and Adam Baker skipping down the platform, gas mask boxes flying. Nice composition, nice colours, a fine job of taking us back in time by Ed Nix

Hastily skipping over the issue of whether you can May dance in June (I believe the event was postponed for some reason) Mark Hemsworth has caught a lovely moment from the event at Batt CE Primary School. With a long lens shot, Mark picks out one joyful face as the surrounding colours drop into soft focus all around her

Bruce Shelton wrote a book entitled Fighting Cancer With Red Wine and Cigars and in keeping with the ‘fighting spirit’ theme, Cliff Hide got this great Winston Churchill-inspired portrait of the author, looking resolute and determined

It is said of some minor celebrities that they’ll turn up to the opening of an envelope. Raymond Blanc is more major league than that, and kindly attended to open the new ticket office at Haddenham and Thame Parkway. However, not before first offering to trim the tie of station manager Malachy McGirr. Great shot, great moment (great names) – picture Cliff Hide

The new building is part of Hinksey Park Football Club’s expansion plans and should be open in July.

Oxford Mail:

This one’s full of life. I like the pose caught by the snapper, Andrew Walmsley. I like the fact we have a false beach in the middle of our city and I like the fact that the sun occasionally comes out in this country. Liuguoqing in acrobatic splendour as ‘Immortal Chi’ put on a show as part of the Oxford Pride Parade
