Cases heard recently at Oxford Magistrates' Court:

  1. Hasan Abbasi, 23, of Bulan Road, Headington, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, on Strawberry Path, Oxford, on March 17. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  2. Michael O’Leary, 29, of Red Bridge Hollow, Old Abingdon Road, admitted possessing cocaine, a Class A drug, in Oxford on May 16. Given a three-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  3. John Rose, 25, of Van Diemans Lane, Oxford, admitted criminally damaging the door of a blue Ford Focus worth £1,317 in Oxford on February 19. Given a community order requiring 40 hours of unpaid work in the next year. Also ordered to pay £200 compensation and a £60 victims’ surcharge.
  4. Simon White, 34, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, admitted stealing clothing worth £158.50 from Jack Wills in Oxford High Street and possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, on May 31. Sent to prison for 42 days.
  5. Matthew Graham, 36, of no fixed address, admitted stealing £23 worth of cosmetics from Boots, Cowley Road, on April 18 and failing to surrender to custody at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on May 2, having been released on bail from Abingdon Police Station on April 18. Given an eight-week prison sentence suspended for nine months.
  6. Stephen Wilson, 45, of Blacknall Road, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in Garsington Road, Oxford, on May 18. Had 54 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £300, ordered to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs, and banned from driving for one year.
  7. Katie Dudley, 24, of Southmoor Way, Abingdon, admitted being drunk in charge of a child in Southmoor Way on May 16. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £45 costs.
  8. Ievan Morgan, 21, of Green Close, Didcot, admitted drink driving on Broadway, Didcot, on May 17. Had 71 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 18 months.
  9. Ricky Brackett, 33, of Nunnery Close, Blackbird Leys, admitted stealing clothing worth £265 from JD Sports, Cowley, on May 31. Given an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months because more than six offences committed in the last 18 months. Ordered to attend drug rehabilitation for six months, and pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  10. Nicholas Minns, 41, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted being drunk in a public place, namely St Aldate’s, Oxford, on May 17. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  11. Simon Bayliss, of Simpsons Way, Kennington, was convicted failing to pay the charge for parking at a Vale of White Horse District Council car park in Abingdon on December 19. Fined £80 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
  12. Rhys Blatherwick, 30, of Beverley Close, Abingdon, admitted failing to notify Vale of White Horse District Council of income for him and his partner affecting entitlement to housing benefit between May 30, 2011 and July 15, 2013. Community order made requiring 60 hours of unpaid work in the next year. Ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £400 costs.
  13. Stuart Moore, 38, of Allerton near Banbury, admitted speeding at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Stratford Road, Wroxton, on October 16. Fined £80 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge. Licence endorsed with three points.
  14. Gonzalo Muntin, 31, of Ewert Place, Oxford, convicted of speeding at 60mph in a 50mph zone on the M40 between junction 7 to 9. Fined £200 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.
  15. John Prince, 60, of Blacksmiths Close, Weston-on-the-Green, admitted speeding at 35mph in a 30mph zone in Drayton Road, Abingdon, on October 14. Fined £80 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge. Licence endorsed with three points.
  16. Siti Shahrani, 29, of Lidstone, Chipping Norton, admitted speeding at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford Road, Enstone, on October 18. Fined £80 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge. Licence endorsed with three penalty points.
  17. Laura Valaitiene, 31, of Badgers Walk, Oxford, convicted of speeding at 37mph in a 30mph zone in Headington Road, Oxford, on October 14. Fined £200 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with three penalty points.
  18. Christopher Whinney, 43, of Red Lion Street, Kings Sutton, admitted speeding at 64mph in a 50mph zone on the A34 at Wytham on October 12. Fined £135 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.
  19. Michael Wilks, 29, of Williamson Way, Rose Hill, Oxford, admitted speeding at 68mph in a 50mph zone on the A34 at Wytham on October 12. Fined £80 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge. Licence endorsed with three points.
  20. Patricia Woodman, 66, of Laburnum Grove, Banbury, admitted speeding at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Stratford Road, Wroxton, on October 16. Fined £80 and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge. Licence endorsed with three points.
  21. Tauqir Hanif, of Gipsy Lane, Headington, was convicted of failing to give information to Vale of White Horse District Council which could identify a driver suspected of a parking offence in Abingdon between January 26 and March 31. Fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
  22. Emma Donigan, of Broad Street, Uffington, near Faringdon, was convicted of failing to give information to Vale of White Horse District Council which could identify the a driver guilty of a parking offence between February 15 and March 31. Fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
  23. Amber Flood, of Falcon Close, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, admitted failing to supply Vale of White Horse District Council with information which could identify a driver suspected of a parking offence in Abingdon between September 21 and January 3. Fined £80 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
