AN AIR ambulance helicopter landed in a field in Oxford to help a man who had been taken ill.
The aircraft touched down on grass off Ferry Hinksey Road at about 2pm on Saturday.
South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman Gill Hodgetts said: “The call came in at 12.58 to a medical emergency involving a male. It was around the Ferry Hinksey area.
“There wasn’t any road access there, so we had to fly in to pick him up. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.”
There was no update last night on the man’s condition.
Eyewitness Elizabeth Pattison, 37, said: “It was there for about 10 minutes.”
