MORE than 1,200 people attended the Ramsden fete and dog show on Saturday.
It raised about £8,000 for Ramsden Memorial Hall and St James’ Church in the village, and included traditional activities such as a tug of war, Morris dancing, plant and book sales, a water slide and bouncy castle.
Organiser Bill Miller said: “It was a fabulous day and the sun shone, which was the most important thing. We try to keep it as traditional as possible.”
The dog show attracted 86 entries in four pedigree and six novelty classes.
Carol Ashman’s 18-month-old English pointer Oliver won the sporting category and was reserve winner in the Best of Show competition.
Mrs Ashman, 44, from Curbridge near Witney, said: “He’s only still a puppy and this was only his fourth show. “He’s done pretty well in every one, which is hopefully a sign of things to come.”
