A 31-year-old woman sustained minor bruising. A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed until September 19.
Det Con Peter Warne of Force CID in Oxford said: "We would like to speak to anyone who can help to identify those people involved in this incident.
"It is not yet clear how many people were involved in this incident and whether there were other related disorders prior to the assault."
One of the offenders was mixed race, aged between 20 and 25 years, around 5ft 6ins tall, of large build, with short shaved hair. He was wearing a light-coloured t-shirt.
Three cars were damaged during the incident. Anyone with information should contact Det Con Peter Warne via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
