LAWRENCE Clarke says England are aiming for another one-two-three at the Commonwealth Games.
The 24-year-old, from Christmas Common, won bronze in the 110m hurdles as a relative unknown at Delhi 2010, with Andy Turrner taking gold and William Sharman silver.
This week the trio were named in England’s team again for Glasgow 2014, bring back happy memories for Clarke.
“I feel extremely proud to represent England and my second Commonwealth Games,” he said.
“Andy Turner, William Sharman and myself managed to secure the podium for England last time and we hope to do it again.
“Glasgow has been my target for a long time and I am hoping to be there in the best possible shape, ready to challenge for a medal.
“Hopefully, the home soil will lend an advantage in Glasgow.
“I have spent May doing multi-round races and am now using June to hone my speed before the national championships in Birmingham on June 29.
“The final preparation then begins for Glasgow.”
Clarke’s last action before the British Championsships saw him win the B race at the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava, Czech Republic in 13.50secs.
He tweeted: “Pleased with a win in #Ostrava #goldenspike into a strong headwind.”
