Disruption misery for weekend train passengers

The Oxford Times: - -

TRAINS between Oxford and London could be delayed today after signalling problems caused disruptions over the weekend.

First Great Western ran a reduced service between Reading and London Paddington yesterday, with ten trains cancelled due to signalling problems between Maidenhead and Slough.

Last night passengers were being warned that trains were being delayed by up to 20 minutes and that this would continue “until further notice”.

First Great Western spokesman James Davis said: “There’s been a major signalling issue just outside London that’s having a significant impact on services.

“Naturally that affects all services coming into and going out of Oxford.

“Our advice to customers is to check before travelling.”

Cancelled services yesterday between Oxford and Paddington included the 11.37am and 11.50am.

Passengers were warned to expect delays of up to 30 minutes yesterday and there were replacement bus services between Maidenhead and Slough.
