CHILDREN dressed up as their favourite film and book characters for the Wallingford Carnival.

Primary schools and youth groups took part in a float procession with a heroes and heroines theme to launch Saturday’s event in the Market Place.

They also enjoyed live music, fairground rides, a magic show and stalls.

High Street resident Jennie Bispham went with her husband Peter and children Louis, 11, and seven-year-old Genevieve, who was part of the 2nd Wallingford Brownies float.

Louis, part of the 1st Wallingford Boys’ Brigade youth activities group, dressed up as the title character from the fantasy novel series Skulduggery Pleasant.
