FIVE-YEAR-OLD Maria-Francesca Benedetto rings the old school bell to mark 150 years of Headington Quarry School.
Former pupils from across generations headed to the Quarry School Place site to join children at the anniversary celebrations on Saturday.
Primary school pupils buried a time capsule at the school for future pupils to discover.
Items buried included a copy of the Oxford Mail, a DVD of popular film Frozen, World Cup stickers and magazine from this year’s tournament in Brazil, a book about the school’s history, a current school lunch menu, and some toys.
The afternoon events saw Headington Quarry’s Morris dancers kick off proceedings, followed by the burying of the time capsule, singing and Maypole dancing.

Rainbow group teacher Annie Arnold said: “It was a really great day. So many people came to see the school and they were all so excited to see what it is like now.
“A lot of them said it hadn’t changed at all from when they were here.”
Headington Quarry Foundation Stage School was founded in 1864.
