ONE lane of the M40 is currently blocked after a car came off the carriageway.

Police officers were called to the southbound carriageway, between junctions 10 at Banbury  and 11 for Brackley/Cherwell Valley Services.

They were called at around 11am today after a car left the motorway and went onto the embankment.

A person has been airlifted to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
