A boost of more than £400,000 has been given to educate the county’s under-privileged three and four-year-olds.
Yesterday Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg announced Oxfordshire would receive £403,658 in Early Years Pupil Premium Funding.
It is part of £50m pot of money being made available in a bid to narrow the gap between young children from low-income families and their peers.
Mr Clegg said: “Increasing their (the young children) chances of success has got to be a top priority.”
