BEN Blakeley described himself as a “criminal” in his police interview and told officers he didn’t care if they found the missing Jayden Parkinson.

This afternoon a jury in Oxford Crown Court was played videos of two interviews conducted with the 22-year-old, who admits manslaughter but denies murder.

The prosecution alleges that on December 3 last year Blakeley killed Jayden in open countryside to the south of Didcot and then buried her body in his uncle’s grave.

Arrested on suspicion of kidnapping her on December 11, officers questioned the former Reading and Didcot resident about his ex-girlfriend’s whereabouts.

He told them: “I’m a criminal, don’t get me wrong, but not like this.

“I would snatch your watch off you, but I wouldn’t take, I wouldn’t take, I don’t have no idea where she is.

“I don’t give a f*** if you find her or not.”

Blakeley and a 17-year-old have both pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.

The 17-year-old denies one count of preventing a lawful burial.

The trial continues.
