HUNDREDS of residents flocked to Drayton for the village’s fifth annual music festival.

The Drayton Pub Music Festival was held at the village’s Red Lion pub, in Abingdon Road, on Saturday.

The family-friendly festival hosted emerging talent from across the country on two stages.

Organiser Craig Evans, 22, said: “It’s just good to see all the community together. It’s good to see great music in a different enviornment to what you normally see it in.”

Luke Allmond

The free event featured a variety of musical styles including indie, pop and blues.

Luke Allmond, from Culham, performed five songs as a soloist and guitarist on the festival’s acoustic stage. The 19-year-old said: “It was really fun. Everyone was really nice, it was really chilled out.”

Mr Allmond has just completed sixth form at Abingdon’s John Mason School, in Wootton Road. As a keen musician he has been playing guitar since the age of 11 and also plays the piano, drums and banjo.

He said: “It’s just the reason I do anything. It’s like the whole point. It’s always in the background. For as long as I can remember music has been what I have been obsessed with.”
