A man arrested after a demonstration has had the charges against him dropped.

Dominic O’Dwyer, 26, of Howard Street, East Oxford, was charged with theft and obstructing or resisting a constable in execution of duty on July 27.

The charges have been now discontinued by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Subira Wahogo, 21, of Magdalen Road, Oxford, was charged with obstructing or resisting a constable in execution of duty and using threatening words or behaviour.

Both were charged after a demonstration by a group calling itself the National Front was confronted by counter-protests by anti-fascist groups, Oxford Unite Against Fascism and Antifa.

Wahogo will appear again at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 11.
