TOURISTS visiting Oxford’s dreaming spires provide a vital boost to the city’s economy.
But it could be bad for business if coach drivers bringing in visitors struggle to find somewhere to park because of temporary arrangements at Oxpens.
There is no evidence yet that coach operators are turning away from Oxford because they cannot find anywhere to park and we hope that remains the case.
Overflow parking is being provided at Abbey Place and Westgate car parks and coach drivers will have to make do until Oxpens car park has been redeveloped, as part of preparations for the new Westgate Centre.
Current arrangements are only temporary and there will soon be added attractions for tourists once the new Westgate Centre is completed.
The wait will be worth it.
